How it works
Five parts. One safe path to the ground.
A lightning rod on its own does not protect a building. Lightning protection systems work because every part is connected, from the air terminals on the roof to the ground rods in the soil. Tap a part to see where it goes.
Every part is installed to UL 96A and NFPA 780 and inspected when the job is done. On an older home, a system inspection shows whether all five are still connected.

Whichever you choose, the whole system is built to match and inspected when the job is done. On a new build we can run the cable hidden inside the roof, so only small air terminals show.

Do lightning rods attract lightning?
No. Lightning rods do not make a strike more likely. They give a strike that was already going to hit the building a safe, planned path to the ground.
